As each season gets warmer, we are reminded how few of us have air conditioning in our homes! We asked local moms what their favorite places were to beat the summer heat.

This is what they said:

10. Starlite Lanes

Flagstaff’s local bowling alley since 1958! Currently, lots of summer specials at our local bowling alley!

9. The Museum

Exhibits change seasonally, making it a great place to go throughout the year.

8. Aquaplex

The Aquaplex is a multi-generational recreation center. The facility offers affordable community fitness for everyone!

7. Mall Playground

The mall playground might be the busiest place in the entire mall!

6. Bear Paw

Bear Paw is a recreation center that is members only within the Country Club community.

5. Lake Mary

Grab your paddle board and head over to Lake Mary for a cool day in the water!

4. Parks

We have so many magnificent parks with varying degrees of shade that are available. Thorpe and Bushmaster are my personal favorites.

3. FAC Pool

Flagstaff Athletic Club is a location of one of only a few outdoor pools in town. Memberships have no contract and can be used temporarily or you can purchase a day pass! You’ll find my family here most days!

2. Splash Pad

There are few things I feel that Flagstaff lacks, but it sure is worth it a few times a summer to drive down to Sedona and have a day at their splash pad.

  1. Library

Flagstaff has two great library locations that are always doing great activities both on site (mask required!) and at the park. Check out their website for a list.

What’s your favorite local place to keep cool on these hot summer days?
