Tacos Tacos Who Loves Tacos?!?

The taco seasoning before it gets all mixed up!

Who loves tacos? My family sure does. Way back before kids, I had a personal trainer and he wanted me consuming less sodium which means pre-made taco seasonings were not an option! As a result, from that moment on my husband and I have made our own taco seasoning.  I have even gone back and used the pre-made taco seasoning again and I can’t stand it! Ha! Maybe I am just too used to my own mix, however, I like the fact that I know what is in my taco seasoning.

Everyone seems to really like our taco seasoning. When friends and family have come over for dinner they have asked for some of my concoction. Hence, for Christmas of 2014, my husband and I decided that it was time to share our seasoning mix. We gave out jars of it as gifts to many of our family and friends. Some of them have even asked for more of it! I tend to make large batches of this mix and keep it in my cupboard as we usually have tacos almost every Tuesday night!

When we gave the jars out we wanted to make labels for them that listed the ingredients and other uses. So, this post consists of two recipes! Winner winner taco dinner! (cute, right?) We like multi-taskers in our house! Therefore, I use this same taco seasoning to make my chili! My chili is a go-to, especially in the winter, for a low-fat high protein tummy filling dish!

I hope that you really enjoy both recipes! What are some of your family favorites for toppings on your tacos or chili?
