Flagstaff Moms Blog was thrilled to spend a night creating and connecting at Board and Brush Flagstaff! Every bit of the experience was fun and fabulous. From the moment we arrived to the final project ta-da we loved every second. We highly recommend stopping in for a Girls Night, Date or Mom+Kiddo project. We have a list a mile long of all the future projects we want to create. The best part – we all LOVED our custom projects. The staff, ambiance, and BOYB make for an all-around fantastic experience.
We asked two members of the FMB team to share their take!
I consider myself to be a very creative person however many of us will look to Pinterest for tons of ideas on projects and then… Never do them. Board and Brush Flagstaff is an amazing place to take those ideas and make them a reality. I have been wanting to check out the new craft spot in town since I heard of it, but I just hadn’t made the time. When FMB offered to do a team night, I signed up right away.
Having all those choices of signs was a little overwhelming but they had then broken down into categories. I had been wanting to add something handmade to my vintage style kitchen. I found an idea I loved, but it said LAUNDRY. Thankfully B&B can do some customized work. They were able to change the design to be KITCHEN. Each sign is also personalized with your name. My nickname has been CoCo since I was a little girl. It was my first choice when I set up my own blog. I decided to use that for my sign. My kitchen has a 50s diner theme and I use a lot of red and turquoise with a little yellow thrown in for fun. I have even carried this color scheme into the living room. I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I started my project. From distressing the boards to putting on the finishing touches, my night at B&B was so much fun. Being able to BYOB was a bonus.
On June 30, the shop had a patriotic make n take set up for only $15. They had four designs to choose from.
The boards were distressed and prepped in advance, so my boys only had to add the paint.
It made for a super fun afternoon.
Here are our finished projects:
I’ve wanted to do a Board and Brush project since they opened up shop here in Flagstaff at Aspen Place. I decided to paint a height ruler for my smush bear, Jett. I’ve been meaning to make him one since he was born two years ago, but I just couldn’t find the time and motivation. The best thing about Board and Brush is that it’s an experience rather than a job to create something.
They do the prep, they help you with each step, and they do the cleanup. You get to leave your home and interact with other adults! Plus, it’s BYOB so you can have wine if you want! When I do a project at home I usually forget something and have to go to the store, then I have to stop what I’m doing 3,000 times to help the smush bear potty, get a snack, cry because his shoes are off, and so on. Then it’s too late to finish so I have to do it the next day. Sometimes it’s good to get out of the house, beat a piece of wood with a hammer, and actually finish a project in one night. Treat yourself!
