A Guide to Thrift Shopping in Flagstaff

One of the best things about living in Flagstaff is the variety of budget-friendly thrift stores. As parents, we all know how expensive it can be to always have to buy new shoes for our rapidly growing child or how overwhelming it can be to have piles and piles of clothes accumulating in closets that our children no longer fit in. Thrift shopping is one of my favorite ways to stretch our budget!

Here is a list of some of my favorite places to thrift in our little mountain town:

1) Babies to Kids

What I love about Babies to Kids is that it is LOCAL and FAMILY owned.  This place is pretty well known for being a one-stop shop for kids and parents alike since there is also a pottery studio for kids and a home-ware store for adults  (Book Nest Mercantile).  In addition to these awesome options, there is also a huge second-hand children’s clothing section and the option to trade-in gently used and good-condition clothing items as well for store credit.  Trade-in for clothing is available Monday-Friday.

2) Sharon’s Attic

This place is great because its’ funds  go toward Sharon Manor, a local home for victims of domestic violence.  Another great aspect of this place is that if you have a large item you would like to donate, like a couch for instance, they offer services for pick-up FOR FREE!

3) Savers and Goodwill

These are probably the most well-known places to donate and shop for used items.  Not to mention, with Halloween right around the corner, both places are well-stocked with costumes and decorations.  There are large sections for used toy and clothing items.

There are so many thrift stores in Flagstaff, many of which I did not mention, but these have been my favorite since living here.  What other places do you all recommend?
